The Smash Ultimate meta continues at a healthy pace, as a whopping 60 tournaments of at least 50 players were held over the past week. That includes eight worldwide events of at least 100 players, which we'll detail below:
Western Hemisphere
Smash Legends 3 in San Salvador, El Salvador boasts the title of this week’s largest event in all of the Western Hemisphere. Triumphing over 238 entrants was none other than MKBigBoss , the ROB extraordinaire himself. Taking 1st at an event featuring players like Yei , ShinyMark , and Haunter speaks volumes to the weight of this feat.
Over in the United States, Back in Blood 5 in Portland, Oregon saw Ned as its victor over Monte , Dark Wizzy , and Lui$ .
At Battle for Z: Forma de Leo Saga in Montréal, the namesake player was actually absent, but he lived on in spirit (feel better soon, MkLeo!). Chag’s spacing and movement in particular were nothing short of exceptional, smoothly winning the whole event. Blacktwins13 , Soar , and LA GRIMACE took 2nd through 4th, respectively.
Mash-Out!! The NC Arcadian, just as its name suggests, took place in Jamestown, North Carolina. Clocking it at 192 entrants and the final 100+ entrant event of the Western Hemisphere, this Arcadian was pretty darn massive. PoisonHealth rose above the rest, taking 1st place. Cyphus took 2nd, Coltman 3rd, and Jennifer 4th.
Eastern Hemisphere
As the largest event of the week, MAESUMA TOP #10 in Osaka, Japan had a stunning 461 entrants. Acola did what he did best, and that was win Grand Finals in a 3-0 fashion. He’s just that good. His path of destruction meant nobody was safe, not even Miya , Yoshidora , and Yaura .
All the way in Rotterdam, Netherlands, two separate American Falcos successfully invaded at Dreamhack Rotterdam Smash Championship 2022. Both Larry Lurr and Tilde took flight at this event, taking 1st and 3rd, respectively. Nestling between the two, Supahsemmie took 2nd, and Tarik 4th.
Otakuni won Smash Contest: HeroFest 2022 in Bern, Switzerland over the likes of DeepFreeze , Karpador64 , and SickBoy .
Finally, just barely making the 100 entrants cutoff, STAR K.O. - BEYOND THE BLAST ZONE - ROUND #6 in Amiens, France, was conquered by none other than Mezcaul . He won the event over the classic French guard: Ogey , Bluesky , and Neeroz .
